• Former Director of Communications, Downing Street

  • Former Editor, News of the World

  • Expert speaker on communications, crisis management and reputation

Andy Coulson was the Downing Street Director of Communications when David Cameron was Prime Minister. In the role once performed by Alistair Campbell for Tony Blair, Andy built and managed the Coalition Government’s communications team and directly advised the Prime Minister and Cabinet on a daily basis. This required strategic thinking crisis management and great resilience.

In his memoir, David Cameron said: “Andy transformed my relationship with the media and translated the theory of modern, compassionate conservatism into something tangible and sexy.”

Prior to entering Downing Street, Andy was Editor of the world’s biggest selling Sunday newspaper the News of the World and a Sun showbiz columnist. He is also the Founder of strategic advisory firm Coulson Partners and host of the Crisis What Crisis? podcast.

In Andy’s own words, “I’ve created, managed and survived my fair share of crises and firmly believe that a sense of humour is the most underrated resilience asset. I’m now putting my experience to work for brilliant leadership clients and via the content platform and podcast Crisis What Crisis?”

Andy is also a Trustee for www.ourbrainbank.org, Advisory Board member at www.ticketsfortroops.org.uk, and occasional contributor to The Spectator, Times, GQ, LBC and others.
